Day in the life of a full-time Forex trader

I come across a lot of people aspiring to be full time traders.

However, a few understands that trading for a living is as stressful as detonating a five seconds’ bomb. In this article I will give my personal experience of how it is like in the day of a full-time trader.

How I started Forex Trading

I have been trading for 8 years and went fulltime after I finished college.

I majored in industrial and mechanical engineering but later discovered that I had a passion in finance. Throughout my experience I would, say its not an easy road to riches. It all started in sports betting. However, this had wild swing wins and losses.

One day searching for a sports betting edge I came across an ad on YouTube. Blown up with that binary options ad I felt a breeze of success. Since it was an activity with only 2 outcomes I saw my name on the Forbes list. Little did I know that this was a long road to penury.

Alright, long story short I lost almost ten thousand in the binary options and through a friend I was introduced to real forex. I learnt a couple of strategies on the internet but still nothing changed. I remember my first trading account was on HFM. Through the pain of getting scammed, blowing account and stress I finally came across a group of people who had mastered this business. I invested myself to master the trading equation right to the point I saw consistency.

My Forex Trading Day

My day starts very early. I am privileged to be in Zimbabwe where my trading times coincides with my normal day time.

London session comes at 9 a.m and the New York session comes at 3 p.m. My first activity is praying, to thank God and ask for wisdom for the new day.

This will be around 5:30 a.m. I use the next hour for my daily workout where I run a 3km track. It is true that to win in trading you must be physically fit.

Never approach your trading station with sweat. I have done that a lot of times and it takes away seriousness and discipline. Trading might be easy to start but its an extremely serious business. From a quick cold shower I put on my formal clothes. It may be funny that this will be all done inside my home but its an effective way the execute the process ahead professionally.

I always trade what I planned earlier on. My mantra on preparedness is failing to plan is planning to fail and it is written on my trading station. My analysis routine is very simple and I can teach you directly in this one on one course.

If I get some trades I make sure to go away from the screens for 2 hours so as to give the market some time to unfold. I use this time for my one on one calls, checking my students assignments or trading mindset cultivation.

After New York session opens I’m a free man. Unlike some other traders I see on YouTube I don’t do Ferrari burnouts but rather have more time with my little daughter.

Trading is a business and will require time from you. It takes away approximately 60% of my active time. This is how I spend my day as a full-time trader.
